I gave this book (hardback) to a young friend. I had read him a few chapters from my one night before bed and we all, he and the adult audience loved it. I thought he'd like to finish it himself. If you are a grownup and want a book to read to a kid, this is one you should consider. Both of you will love it.
This was a favorite of my kids and now it's a favorite for my grandkids!
I found this title when my now 36 year-old was about four, but it was out of print. I was happy to find it at last to give to his four-year old. Wonderful book.

I first got this book in a book fair when I was in second grade. I loved it and read it over and over again. My copy was lost over the past 30 years, but I found this one to share with my son. He loved it just a much as I did. Funny, irreverent and wildly imaginative, this book is great for any child looking for a fun, well-written story well outside the normal fair.
