I first purchased this book as a teen agerer. Since then I have always looked to it to help keep my inner child alive. For those people who say there are things in this book that are too scary or gross for children I would like to tell you the story of my fiancee. She met one of the kids from the classroom that inspired this book. Apparently the artist asked a classroom of kids what if...? and these are responses from them. This book is a beautifully illustrated trip into the minds of children who like adults sometimes wonder some weird or gross things. I buy this book every time a friend has a baby. I would highly recommend.

Very creative. Kids as well as adults love it. Full of surprises and then they just keep going back to it over and over again. The artwork is exquisite..
This is one of my favorite picture books for kids. The illustrations are surprising and delightful. It's a great kinder/first grade book for learning to read, because there are only a few words on each page and the illustrations give nice clues to the words. Buy two one to keep, and one to give away at the next birthday party you attend.
Read this the last week of school with first and second graders and encouraged them to write their own version. We had fun sharing and compiling. Loved that it made them think in a different perspective- something that isn't being encouraged with all the standardization taking place in public schools these days!
Awesome illustrations and the kids love to stare at them so understand what they are really seeing! Then the reactions! I think it stimulates their imaginations!
