A funny 'war of the roses' romance that is actually a little heart breaking when you learn why this couple broke up years ago after less then a year together. Ten years later they discover they will be working together. The attraction is still there, but the hurt they felt is also still there. Wanting to make Jace suffer for invading 'her' space and trying to run him out of town, Courtney begins pulling harmless pranks on him that leave him laughing more so than mad. He starts to get even and thus the battle begins.

The antics between the two are hilarious. The sexual tension is there. You can feel their hurt, although we don't find out the truth about all those years ago until the end, the break-up was played on throughout the book. The characters have the great banter and wit. There are the resident villains, as well as a few minor characters that add a laugh or two here and there. For the most part this is a light-hearted read. Not overly emotional. It alternates between POV's and 'Then' and 'Now's.' There is some sexual content, but I think it's safe for 16/17+. (Not super graphic/smutty.)

The only thing I did not care too much about is how childish Courtney was. She is a professional.....an attorney. The immature things she did to Jace while on the job were ridiculous!!

I loved all of Whitney’s other book.....this book is cute but Courtney kinda turned me off.
As I sit here trying to gather words for how I feel about this book, I realize that my struggle to, is partially because this book lacks everything.

Jace and Courtney, were once high school sweethearts, who through misunderstanding, ended their relationship. As fate would have it, they find their way back to each other and immediately pick up where they left off 10 or so years ago and the book immediately ends. There was absolutely NO relationship building between the characters, the story was rushed, which left the story feeling bland and recycled.
Jace and Courtney fell in love in Jace’s last year of high school. He was so good to Courtney but I think that she had serious trust issues because of her so called best friend Genevieve. That girl was a piece of work. Instead of talking to Jace about something she saw she broke up with him. They meet up 10 years later and Jace still has feelings for her and so does Courtney. She refuses to talk about what happened between them but Jace wears her down. I wish there was more of an epilogue to see what happened but I guess we will have to use our imaginations.
Really enjoyed this second chance romantic comedy! Loved the story of Jace & Courtney. Their relationship is so comical. The way they go at each other and try to one up the other is hilarious! I just love how they started out as best friends & the relationship grew from there. But when Jace goes to college will their relationship survive?
Definitely worth the read!!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I absolutely loved this book. Courtney and Jace have such a beautiful story. They are both struggling with what cause them to drift apart years ago. They both feel betrayed by the other one. We get to see how their relationship started. The suspense to find out what really happened kept me reading until the end. I honestly loved how sweet and cocky Jace is!! Its so sexy!!! Courtney is a strong and independent lady.
The book has it all..laughter, tears, anger and steamy sex!!!!❤ I didn't give it 5 stars because I didn't like how it ended. It feels like there should have been more of the story. I was left wanting more... But overall a great book

This is book makes you devour every word. I'm a major supporter of all things Whitney G. as she is one of my favorite (if not my favorite) writers. I have read Nicole London's work as well and when these two besties put their words together, it's awesome. This book is witty, HOT, and will pull at your heart strings when you come to realize just how much these two lovers turned enemies lacked communication. Jace and Courtney are the perfect match. Both witty, spontaneous, and can go on with petty pranks for DAYS on end. That's what makes them so lovable. When a court case forces them to put (in Courtney's case) the hatred aside for the sake of their case, they are forced to face their feelings for one another. Absolutely loved this.
Books by Nicole London and Whitney G never seem to disappoint me. So when I saw that these two authors were writing a book together I had to read it. I definitely wasn't disappointed. My Enemy Next Door has just the right amount of humor and romance to keep you turning every page wanting more. You could feel the love and pain coming right off of the pages. The story starts off in present time but I like how they give you glimpses into the past (the chapter titles really added to the intrigue). Jace and Courtney really had a first love/ true love romance and I'm glad that they were able to find each other again. I enjoy a book that is full of romance but also one that makes me laugh. This book definitely met it's mark with me. My only wish is that it had a bit more to the ending. I'd love to hear more about how these two are doing. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy for an honest review*
